After the heater debacle I got out late but still managed to find a spot to park at Snowbowl at noon. First hike of the year and it was a good one. Extremely cold and windy with fresh powder made it pretty hard to hike up hill. I took my time and summited at just before 5 pm. I was moving very slowly at times above treeline with all my head gear on. Except for the wind, it can feel like walking in space or on the moon. I came down well after sunset and enjoyed some stars on the ski run and still managed to hit traffic near town. Today was my 70th summit. I took a bunch of pictures of the scenery.

I think Monsoon season will begin around June 20, plus or minus 5 days, not by the calendar according to the NWS, but when dew points rise dramatically, and it begins to rain over the Sacramento Mountains. It will start about 10 days later in Arizona.
