I challenged myself to do this loop in under one hour. I've hike this area several times, but this was my first attempt at trying to knock out the complete 5 mile loop racing against the clock. Started at First Water TH at 9:50am. Ran down to Second Water Trail. A gradual climb leads up towards Garden Valley. Hustled across Garden Valley then its mostly downhill towards Hackberry Spring. Boulder hopped my way up the creek and then up the trail by the stables and old wind mill. At this point, I'm feeling pretty much pooped. Climbed the uphill trail out onto the road. Arrived at the road with 2.5 minutes to spare. I picked up the pace again, but soon realized, "I'm not going to make this in under 60 minutes." I rounded the final bend, I could now see the cars in the parking lot, but its 59 minutes,50 seconds and counting. I reach my vehicle at 10:50am, 60 minutes and 30 seconds after I started. Exhausted...Wow! Didn't quite hit the goal, but a great feeling of satisfaction on this first attempt. :y:

This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee.
