Trail was in good condition and well marked. Was not overly crowded but did pass enough small groups to remind me that it was the weekend. Saw no horses but apparently they were out today as I saw numerous fresh droppings on the trail.

There are lots of mines in the area. After the hike went over to the camping area on the west side of the park to check out a short 5 minute trail to the Clay Mine.
