It's been awhile since I've been able to check a canyon off in Todd's book with my recent pursuit of undocumented canyons and repeating the good ones.

I was canyon scouting in the area and on the way out I swung by here and finished the day off in this beautiful gem. This canyon is trying real hard to give you a rappel but just barely fell short.

The towering red quartize walls are amazingly sweet with a few sweet narrow sections to play in. Too bad the canyon wasn't flowing... Instead I was treated to stagnant unappleaing pools.

Thankfully I only got wet up to my knees, but that required some exposed traversing around the deep ones. A handline wouldn't hurt to lower down any of your less skilled buddies who don't like exposure.

The narrows take a break after a bit, Cougar Canyon comes in from the right, and further down it narrows up again briefly before becoming another sandy wash. I found a use trail on the northside to take back to the 4x4 road that I hiked in on and followed that east back to the TH. Yet another short and sweet canyon and I'm glad to have finally checked it out.

Sweet, 800th triplog.
