I originally planned to take out of town guests up to Page to see slots and hoodoos, but the weather forecast called for 70-90% chance of rain in the area. Decided to travel south instead. We started in Mesa and took the 60 through Superior, Miami, and Globe. Followed the 70 into Safford, and the 191 to the I-10 and into Wilcox. We arrived at the park in just under 4 hours. This was my first time in the Chiricahua's. The hoodoos and spires in this area are interesting and plentiful. We hiked under blue skies and breezy winds. An area called the grotto was probably the most interesting feature. By 5 o'clock we were back at the Echo Canyon TH and ready to find a place to stay for the night. Our guests really like the idea of seeing Tombstone, so we took the back road route from the Chiricahua's into Tombstone where we found a nice bed and breakfast at the Tombstone Bordello.

This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee.
