7:15am - Started on the road portion
7:32am - Turned onto Esperero, Bob and Dave were off to the races
10:08am - Bridal Veil Falls, ten minute break
10:54am - Cathedral Trail
11:46am - Bob went off main cairned route on wacky tangent. I was on the better cairned route. Bob doesn't care for reasoning when he is determined...lol
12:46pm - Top of lower of two peaks
1:00pm - Bob and Dave summit real peak
1:36pm - 50min break (less for some) over and headed down on better cairned route.
2:36pm - Back on Esperero
4:48pm - End of 80ft ascent Bob and Dave called a "400ft" ascent
5:45pm - Finished
We didn't move very swift since Nick, Bruce and I did AZT #4 yesterday and Liz hadn't hiked much recently. Bob and Dave were well rested.
This is an awesome hike, up up up! It's a good trail a majority of the way. The top is cairned. I made the lower, easier, summit. The real summit was out of my range. I went up a little ways on the rope then backed down. It doesn't look that bad. So I went up again about half way. Going up is easy. The second I looked down I got scared. Stopped and took a good fifteen minutes to get down screaming like a four year old girl.
After three days of consecutively more difficult hikes my legs are fine. My back on the other hand has a piercing pain that made it difficult to step down anything. To put it lightly, the descent was pure hell. Enjoying Shiatsu now
I would do this again in a heartbeat! I figure there was probably about two hours of breaks total. Thanks Nick and Bob for setting this up and thanks to Liz for driving us all!
