Yesterday I hiked down the Alognquin Trail #225 to Poland Creek. The destination was the Big Dipper Pool but I didn't make it all the way. What I estimate to be a quarter mile from the finish line was a pretty challanging area with water in the middle and steep rocks on either side. My buddy and I attempted to go up and over on the right side but were attacked by the many trees and prickly bushes. We are going to return in a month to do the East Fort Trail hike just past Crown King and at that point we plan to swim/wade through the channel. Yesterday it was just a tad too cold for this. Nice hike otherwise and the trail seems to be rarely used. Lots of overgrowth.
