Big day down Tanner, across the Escalante and up New Hance. Enjoyed being close to the river much of the time on this one, saw at least 20 people out there backpacking the route. I always prefer going light and fast, but this was about my limit for a day hike. Fortunately my lovely wife and shuttle car driver was waiting for me with food and fresh water after the monster climb up New Hance, topping out under a magnificent sunset.
