It was a really nice day today and I was needing something with some miles and aeg since I've been a little out of the game lately. Temperatures were fairly pleasant going up Ord, though the gnats were a little annoying for a while. There was no one else hiking the old jeep rode but I saw a few on the forest road near the summit and a couple cars at the gate. One couple that I saw pull up to the gate near the summit ended up pulling into the Slate Creek turn-off as I was finishing the hike. They began driving their SUV up the jeep road . I don't remember exactly what kind it was but there was no way it was going to make it very far. They stopped and asked me a couple questions and were surprised I had hiked from bottom to top and back. I kindly dissuaded them from attempting the jeep road and I think mentioning the FJ Cruiser trouble that Bruce had seen up there recently did the trick. They turned around

I had a fantastic day and was really happy to finally get a good workout again after my injury. I think I actually made it to the summit faster than I ever have!
