Very nice hike up on the rim. We started out from the north side of Pine Canyon Trail #26 and headed down into the canyon. We knew that the switchbacks were going to be tough coming back up. We made it to the creek and decided to head towards deep pools instead of down towards Pine. We made it to Darling Rocks and then the trail really became overgrown. We had to bushwhack for the next mile or so before we couldn't go any further. Unfortunately we were within about a 1/4 mile from the pools and couldn't get to them. Oh well....I will just have to make it back later in the summer.

We had lunch near the creek while the dog swam in the creek. Great hike back out and yes the switchbacks were tough. They were good practice for my trip to Phantom Ranch next week.
