Found parking by a beach and made our way up a path to the edge of the ocean on lava cliffs. Smelled something funny oh ya were in St. Maarten round the corner come out of the brush to find a topless woman smoking pot and sunbathing. Continued toward sunset beach. There once stood many beach houses in this area and there were many foundations including one complete with floor tiles in place. Evidence of the annual hurricanes that blow through here. Got the beach and airport in site but found we were cliffed out. Saw what I thought was an abandoned resort and made my way trespassing through only to have a maintenance man pop out of nowhere. He was kind enough to give us directions. Grabbed a spot at the bar and watched a whole gaggle of crazy people try to hold onto the embankment while a 767 positioned itself for takeoff. I noticed the pilots kept the brakes locked while going up to full power to blow the crowd off of their perch. I did not film this part, but it was amusing to watch them all get blown into the water. Did film a smaller aircraft as well as a 737 come in for landing and will post when I put on the photoset.
