Shame on me. I've really been slacking on my midweek hikes. Just haven't been out there doing them. This morning I got back out there and did one of my usual hikes, Meridian TH to Pass Mtn Saddle and back.

Maybe its because I haven't been out here in awhile, but it seemed like this bit of desert was more attractive than I remember. Everything just seemed to glow in the early morning light.

I decided to take a different route back to the TH and jumped on a primitive trail that leads down into a dry wash bed and right back towards the parking lot. Glad I did, as I came across some owls hiding out down in the wash. They kept flying away down the wash, and I followed, setting up several photo opportunities. They never let me get very close though, so the pics aren't all that good. I will post a few of the better ones.
