This was my first time climbing "A Mountain".This hike is in the 60 hikes book.It starts on the southwest side of ASU football stadium.There is no parking at the trailhead but the lightrail does stop right there.I went on a Sunday so the parking meters are free.You can park on the west side of Wells Fargo Arena and walk across the front of the south entrance to the Stadium.Maybe a five minute walk and you will be at the start of the hike.It's up the south side of the mountain and down the northwest side.From there it's across the street(Rio Salodo)to Tempe Town Lake.Go east and then north across Scottsdale road.Go west along the north side of the lake and then south across the Mill Ave.Bridge.Pass the Beach Park and Monti's then check out the shops between 3rd and 5th streets.I went early so they were closed.From there it's east on 5th steet and back to your car for a 4.3 mile loop. Another hike done!
