Just a brief trip to the mountains to escape the heat and take a break from some recent chaos on the home front. Wanted to be sure to go someplace where the monsoon was active. These mountains rarely disappoint, though they are still pretty dry and need a lot more storm action. Spent my time leisurely snooping around various places. With the fire ban still in effect, there weren't many people in the various campgrounds, which made me happy. The last time I stayed in Soldier Creek campground was 24 years ago with my mom and friends from days gone by. Even got the same spot we had way back then. A little light thundershower activity both days and sprinkles in the night made for a pleasant low key time at around 9000 feet.
