Wasn't sure where I was going to hike to, just knew I was going to start from Columbine. Made my way down the Ash Creek trail to the boiler and decided to check out the Webb Peak trail up to the big rocky knoll. I then hiked back down and jumped back on Ash Creek and took it down to the falls, then back up to Columbine. The falls were flowing a little below average, but the real highlight of the trip were all the flower colors along the creek! In fact, the whole mountain from Snow Flat to the top now have yellow sunflowers everywhere (and lots of everything else). Only wildlife spotted on the hike were the always present lizards in the slick rock area, wildlife spotted on the drive back down the mountain was 1 white-tail doe & a moma bear with her 2 very small cubs along the switchbacks. First time I have ever seen newborn cubs on the mountain!
Wildflowers Observation Moderate
