After only doing 7 miles on the Salt River Trail, I needed to get some extra distance in before calling it a day and decided to do this trail. It's a short lasso loop that for a while parallels the Salt River. It's nice to be able to hear the water running while you're on this trail. There are signs along the trail that describe the environment and plants and give some educational background. There are also alot of trail markers to guide you along the way since it can get a little faint in places thru the brush. Some jackhole decided to try to cut down all the plastic markers, but there semi repaired enough to be able to easily follow the trail.

There is one nice shady section thru a mesquite forest along the shore, but the rest of it is exposed in the sunlight. Probably a nicer trail to do when the weather is a little cooler. One of the interpretive signs that give info talks about a young saguaro that's in front of it, which is not about 12 feet tall. I guess those signs have been there for a while.
