Nice escape from the heat. Got to the trailhead at about 930 am. Parked in the street to avoid the fee in the parking lot. Not many cars, only ran into a few people towards the begining of the trail. There were several people camped down by the creek at the lower end.
The weather was great, seems like it had rained early in the morning and the dirt was still a bit wet. Lots of Butterflys out. When we arrived at the springs, we had the place to ourselves and enjoyed a snack and some nice resting time before heading back down. On the way back, passed lots of people on their way up. The clouds were growing and they were very dark at this point. Parking lot was full once we returned as well.
On the way into payson it was just starting to pour so I'm sure it was a wet hike for some of the others.
