I noticed the forecast for cloud cover and took a chance. A bobcat crossed the road leading up to the trailhead. The morning clouds and wind kept the hike nice and cool. I detoured down Frog Tanks trail to check out the ruins. The ruins are pretty much rubble but there were several rooms and many pot shards. Next I attempted to locate the ruins near the ranch but the thick growth kept me from searching much. I took another detour through the apple tress and found about 5 tress with a lot of fruit but many others with none or only a few apples. The bears are eating the green apples already this year. I stopped by the spring to get some water and saw a black-tailed rattlesnake by the water. I stopped briefly for a snack and cruised back. The sun came out for a while but then more clouds moved in and I exited about 2:50p.
