Paintbrush Canyon - Cascade Canyon Loop........#9 on the list of America's top 10 toughest day hikes. Why? I'm still trying to figure it out....... Wasn't tough at all, but sure was beautiful!!! We started from our campsite at South Cascade, so it added some mileage on. Got the climb of Paintbrush Divide out of the way in the first 1/3 of the hike, so it was mostly flat from there on. The alpine lakes, canyons and view of the regular lakes were stunning. The only part of the hike I could've done without was going through the 'touristy' area around Jenny Lake. Whipped me out of my 'solitude' frame of mind briefly.
