We spent a few days in Greer to get away from the summer heat. We were a little worried about what the area would look like after the big Wallow fire, but most of the town looks the same. Lots of patchy fire destruction but overall it's still very green. We stayed at the Greer Lodge (huge discount at the time) and enjoyed having a fire going with high temp 65 one day and 70 the other day. We walked around a bunch in the double jogging stroller from the lodge down the road to East Fork trail head and along the Little Colorado River. I could not believe the fire line visible on the hills east of the lodge -- amazing firefighters.
