Needed to do something close to home, this fit the bill.

I'd climbed to the top of this little gem before, but since the time I did that, 2HIKERZ has completed this track making it a loop now. THANKS!

It was a beautiful morning with cool temps and a nice breeze.

After getting to the top, I started down the new section of this trail. The trail is a little thin in places, but if you keep a keen eye out, cairns are strategically placed. Also keep an eye out for orange tape.

I spotted a nice looking buck Mule Deer on my way down the North side. I don't think he ever saw me.

The Wild Burros were making quite a racket. I saw a group of two, and then another group of about 8.

1,000...finally!

My son, who is in the Air Force, is in town for the Holidays. Our first pick for the day would have been too cold with the high winds this morning. We opted for this short one, close to home, that way he could get home and finish his Christmas shopping early this year! Must have been to cold for the wildlife. The Burros must have been in their Burrows.

Havasu Canyon Trail - Sep 15 2014
I was watching the helicopter make multi-drops of people and supplies when, at one point, a stray horse wandered into the landing field (the gate was open). The guys unloading the supplies chased it around the field until it went back out the gate. Then as it was running up the main drag, another resident must have thought it got loose so he shooed it back into another open gate and back into the field. So now these guys are chasing it around the field again but this time they start pelting it with rocks. The horse was panicking and didn't know where to go. Rocks were being hurled at it from all directions. He ended up falling down after a really hard rock hit and it looked like he broke...
