This was day two of my weekend trip. I wish I had the gps track for this one. Its well signed if your paying attention.

. I saw a brown AZT sign but didn't pay attention to the direction sticker

and it cost me a half mile each way.

. If you are a fan of elk, this is the hike for you. They were all over the place throughout the hike. If you like getting annoyed going out of the way to get from point a to point b then this section of the azt is the one for you. Its mostly road, but the part that was single track was really nice. The loop adds about 10 miles and if you explore and make a wrong turn you may bring your total to 36 instead of 33.5. The old road that runs along 64 is a roller coaster which was filled with elk and smoke from a prescribed burn. The day before I had made two caches...neither of which I retrieved until after the hike. The first cache was a spot where I was guessing the trail would cross but it didn't. I was too tired to get the second one and had filled at S.K. anyway. I would of been mad if I went out of my way to retrieve it because someone took it

. It was a great sunrise to sunset
