Took my friend up to the basin and back. Kind of nice hiking with a new hiker! She lives here in Apache Junction and has for 7 years but has never been up Siphon Draw! She was amazed at how beautiful it is up in the canyon! We headed up early in the shade of the mountain with only a few people on the trail but it was getting busy on our way down!

We parked (no one else had though) at the free parking at the end of McKellips. Love it! Shortens the hike and the elevation gain a bit and its free!
