Met up with Devon (DBMooner) for a morning hike up to Flatiron. We started at the Mining Camp TH at 6:30am. Clouds threatened rain on the way up. Blue skies appeared for short time followed by more clouds and a few scattered sprinkles. Made it up to Flatiron mostly dry. We watched as the fog started to roll in. On the way down we had to break out the rain gear. The rain made for a very slippery descent. Extra care and time was taken to avoid slips and falls. The fog crept its way into the canyon and blocked our view of the Flatiron. I would have taken more pics but my battery died. I will post a couple photos of the fog that I took with my cell phone. All in all, I enjoyed this new experience of hiking Flatiron in the rain. I can now say that I've hiked this route in rain, snow, fog and night. Also, got to meet a fellow HAZer with whom I enjoyed some good trail chat and storytelling.
