Hiked down New Hance Trail or rather climbed down the trail -- camped at the Red Canyon Wash & explore down river. Fall was in full swing with some beautiful cottonwoods by camp and in the upper reaches of Red Canyon wash. Loved our different campsite! (camped at river the prior 3 times so we did something different.) This allowed us an early camp & some wonderful time to poke around the wash upstream & check out the area. The no moon nights made for some spectatcular night skies -- the milky ways was very evident. Spent an hr or so star gazing. Not too cold by the wash. Fell asleep  to sounds of a soothing babbling creek rather than the usual thunderous roar of Hance Rapids.

As always -- this trail is one hard trail! a few :scared: sections & it feels longer than the designated distance.
Autumn Foliage Observation Moderate
Wildflowers Observation Isolated
