We knew the weather would be less than ideal, but when bart01 graciously offered to risk his truck, I didn't expect conditions to change quite as suddenly (or frequently) as they did. Despite that, it was a great day to be out. There's no way to describe the beauty of the wind-blown snow or the delicious bite of the breeze. Even the mud didn't seem bad, and it wasn't compared to what came next. The bees left us alone, but the slippery conditions dissuaded me from venturing up the crack for a better look.
