This trail should be called "the ridges next to the Pontatoc Canyon Trail" or "Shindagger Gauntlet Trail". It spends very little time in the canyon, which was fascinating- running with small waterfalls and full of pools. The real fun began after the "end of trail" sign when I bushwhacked up to Peak 5783. the views from up there are outrageous! You can even get a peek at The Window from up there. I see this peak all the time driving around town, so it was fun to be on top. I could see numerous bushwhacking possibilities from my perch, reasons to come back and explore.
