| | | On my way to visit a friend in Ramona, I stopped to hike this trail. I had read about it in a hiking guidebook by Jerry Schad. Views from the 3 hills I climbed look out toward the mountains, and down the San Pascual Valley, where my great-grandparents are buried. Also, you can see a little slice of the ocean from the hilltops. You also look right down at Highway 78, a busy two-lane road which connects Escondido with Ramona, and Santa Ysabel Creek, a perennial stream which the highway follows. The trail also crosses a pretty little canyon full of live oaks, which had a very small creek running through it. I saw two deer and some hawks and ravens. | _____________________
