Took the Hiking Club along. Boy oh boy, one student was not quite ready to do this hike, even though he had participated in our earlier Picacho hike, back in October. Really enjoyed the trail, but there were tons of people on it. Temps are starting to creep up - 75 by the end of the hike. Flowers are coming out on some of the creosote, and a couple Lycium had fruit higher up on the mountain. Wildflower season can't be far off...

How To Put Out a Campfire
A campfire must be extinguished by drowning it with water, stirring with a shovel, and repeating that process until the campfire is cold to the touch. A campfire is still a danger if it has any trace of heat, and must not be left or abandoned. Wildfires can begin by abandoned campfires that rebuild heat on windy days and then blowing embers ignite surrounding grasses and brush.
