Hiked this loop with a couple friends on a near perfect day - blue sky, temps in the low 70s with a slight breeze. This loop hike has a lot to offer with great views of Elephant mtn and Skull Mesa, Hohokum ruins if you know where to look and a wide variety of desert and riparian vegetation. We made a slight variation in this loop taking the Metate trail along the creek to add more variety. There was a moderate flow in Cave Creek but crossings were easy via rock hopping or the plank bridges provided by the park staff.
