I worked 1/2 day today so decided to hit South Mountain. Wanted to do something light since I was doing a long one tomorrow. Started up the Trail and barely went 1/4 mile and my vision got really blurry and I found that I had lost the Trail and ended up in some rocks??? :o I could not find the Trail no matter how hard I tried, I just kept running into more and more rocks. I ran into some really old people, but they were in amongst the rocks themselves and they didn't know where the Trail was either.

After about an hour, I remembered a very helpful tip that I had read in a Survival Article by some author named Angela something, can't remember the last name. Anyway, she suggested that the best thing to do when you are hopelessly lost is "Give Up and Take Pictures."

So I did! I figured if I was going to keep running into all of these rocks and never find the Trail, the least I could do is show everybody the kind of rocks I was contending with. :sk: I got some pictures of the local Wildlife too. Some of them looked kind of old as well.... 8)

I looked for that Trail for 4 Hours before I finally found it again. Good timing too, because it almost looked like it was going to rain....

:-$ :--: :GB:

Havasu Canyon Trail - Sep 15 2014
I was watching the helicopter make multi-drops of people and supplies when, at one point, a stray horse wandered into the landing field (the gate was open). The guys unloading the supplies chased it around the field until it went back out the gate. Then as it was running up the main drag, another resident must have thought it got loose so he shooed it back into another open gate and back into the field. So now these guys are chasing it around the field again but this time they start pelting it with rocks. The horse was panicking and didn't know where to go. Rocks were being hurled at it from all directions. He ended up falling down after a really hard rock hit and it looked like he broke...
