Ended up going from Bright Angel lodge to the Hermit Trailhead and back. From Bright Angel trail it is 7.8mi. The bus line is not running along Hermit Road right now. There is hard packed snow along sections of the trail but nothing significant. The first mile or so and last 2.5 miles to the Hermit Trailhead is on a nice paved path. Did not see another hiker the entire time going out and maybe a few dozen cars on the way back.
