After going up to this area on Wednesday and getting questions from Angela about my photos, I decided to join her and Ambika up there Saturday to enjoy it again and show her in person. It truly was like a "gold rush" out there with lots of photographers swarming the hillsides like modern day prospectors in search of megapixel treasures! We did a short loop hike to the spot I found Wednesday, plus I got to take Angela on another 4x4 road up Fortuna Wash to below Fortuna Peak. The flower displays were very impressive as we hiked along a long abandoned road for a short distance. This whole area along the Silver King Mine Road is loaded with former mining operations and is very scenic, especially Kings Crown Peak. After our wonderful day of exploration and photography, Angela treated Ambika and I to dinner at Los Hermanos in Superior. They returned home while I went to find a place to camp nearby, as I had more 4x4 roads to check out Sunday.
