met up with john right after work and headed for lost goldmine trailhead
got going around 7:30 and it was a bit chilly
headed west on lost goldmine, then up west boulder canyon to the saddle
picked up the cairned trail to robber's roost and had to look around a bit for the way in
i had never been up there, and found the terrain and scenery pretty awesome
love hiking on the slick rock and looking at the hoodoos
robber's roost itself is quite the spot - most interesting rock formations
couldn't figure out how to get down to the tree under the waterfall, but didn't spend too much time on it
enjoyed the hike across the top and down to peralta saddle
went down cave - my second time and now i think i could find the route on my own
i like peralta, but there were a lot of people on it, and cave is a much better experience
on our short hike back to the parking lot, we met ranger snakemarks on duty and chatted for a few minutes
