Bill Gibson and I went back out to the Gowan gravesite that we and a group of 9 other people worked on last Saturday. This time, armed with a cordless drill, Bill easily was able to secure the fencing the group had erected. It was another gorgeous day for hiking, with cool breezes and sunshine.

On Saturday, we had driven a mile of the journey to the old windmill where Bill had staged the fencing. Yesterday, however, we set out from the TH so we could experience the entire hike. That last mile out was a bugger for me! Lots of rocky, uphill trekking that probably wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been at the end of the hike. But it was definitely doable, and if I can do it, anyone can!

All in all, it was a beautiful day, a lovely hike, and a culmination of a worthy project to honor one of the area's prominent pioneers. Rest in peace, Davey, you have a beautiful resting spot again!
