On my Indian Spring Peak/Diamond Mountain loop hike I saw a road that baffled me because I couldn't figure out where it came from or where it went. So with some time to burn after my hike I set out to find out how to access it. So on the way south from my hike I turned west off SR87 at the earliest opportunity, which was onto FR3456/FR1333. I had been driven most of the wash late last summer thinking the wash FR1333. But with a keen eye for something other than the wash, I found a semi-hidden turn to the right out of the wash, which I now know is actually FR1333. (The wash itself is unnamed)

Now this was more like what I expected FR1333 to be. It climbed up and followed a ridge above the wash until heading up and making almost a full loop around a mountain before heading down into Indian Spring Canyon. This was the perfect road to try out my new front air-locker. It was so rough and rutted there were several location where I had to engage front and rear lockers to maintain enough traction for forward movement. I had a few scary moments because when both lockers are engaged turning the vehicle can be a challenge due to the wheels not wanting to turn at different speeds as well as having a small-diameter steering wheel and no power steering. It was a steep learning curve making sure the wheels were pointed straight when locking OR unlocking the front. It sure doesn't make good sounds when unlocking with tension on it.

I'm sure glad I noticed this road from my hike across the peaks to the north and decided to seek it out as it has opened up a whole new treasure of interesting places to hike to.
