Tuesday night after work I drove up to Holbrook and stayed the night to begin my Hiking/Road Trippin Journey.

First Stop Onyx Bridge. This is in the Book "100 Classic Hikes in Arizona" by Scott Warren. I am making good progress on completing them all.

The hike is really pretty cool and very different than anything else I have experienced. It is in the Painted Desert and is like a giant sandbox hiking playground. Finding the Onyx Bridge isn't the easiest thing in the world but isn't impossible either. There was a lady and her dog camping about a 100 yards from bridge. It seemed like an odd place to set up camp if you ask me but hey what do I know? After finding the bridge I just roamed around taking it all in. I attempted to climb straight up side of one of the large sand cliffs but about half way up I came sliding right back down. (you can see my attempt on the GPS route) :)

Headed on back to the trailhead and on to hike two of the day. Thumbs up on this one if you happen to be in the area!
