Peralta to Fremont Saddle for sunset. Saw Gila Monster and Tarantula. Sweet. Down the other side in the dark along overgrown trail to Pinon Camp. Very nice, flat with water nearby from all the rain.
Up at 4 am to get back to the saddle for sunrise, found an awesome dry camp northeast of saddle with perfect seating to view Weavers Needle. Continued back along Cave Trail, steep smooth slopes and missing cairns made for some bushwacking. Not a great route for a heavy or external frame pack. Caves were numerous but shallow, good storm shelters at best.
