When on vacation in September in Arizona, I drove a long way to get to Canyon De Chelly, but it was a beautiful sight when I saw the canyon walls and floor for the first time, I thought it one of the most awesome things I've ever beheld. The trail is steep, but wide and looking down the trail, one wonders if it's worth the trip all the way down to the floor of the valley (about a half-hour down and over an hour trip back up to the top). I didn't have the time or energy to do it, but walked as far down the trail as I thought I could and then back up. The scenery was outstanding and almost unbelievably colorful and the rock formations are incredible.
