These are the non-hike photos of the trip to the Guadalupe Mountains. It is a worthy destination. The maples in McKittrick Canyon usually put on a fine display in fall (late October to early November). I had planned to go there last year for that, but due to wildly fluctuating weather (common in that area) it didn't happen. Perhaps this year. I will forgo the car camping and opt for a motel instead, either in Van Horn or Carlsbad/White City.
