This hike is on Mt. Washington, New Hampshire. We got into the area late in the afternoon and paid the $49 for one car and 4 people to take the auto road to the top. A little scary as it's steep with no guardrails. We were lucky as the Laconia Bike Rally was this week and the road was open to only motorcycles the next day. Old Jackson Rd Trail is part of the AT as it goes through NH. Visitors center said only about 50 thru-hikers had made it this far as of today. These are the speed hikers that started in Georgia. This trail takes you to a side trail up to Lows Bald Spot. It's a granite rock area with nice 360* views. We then went back to the main trail and went a little beyond where it crosses the auto road then turned around.
