Have had this - Safford Water Tank Mesa loop - on my idea list for over a month now just waiting for a nice cloudy day to roll in. Big clouds moved in over the Gila valley this afternoon so off I went! I first entered Discovery Park from the front entrance and on around exiting to the south. Then took Graveyard Wash around and over water tank mesa down to Freeman Flat and back to Discovery Park completing the loop. Hiking across Freeman Flat it always a historical walk back in time! I found several prehistoric sites, many old CCC check dams and a couple of cool dump sites. I love it when a Google Earth trail comes together and this is one I will do again, although next trip I'll wait until it's 75 not 105
