Finally went after Table Mt. in Pusch Ridge of the Catalinas today. This hike is unbelievable and wildly painful at the same time. The original description is pretty good..i would add two pieces of advice. First, at the grinding stones if you wander up the creek and few hundred feet to the little dam - you can walk across this and access a very (very) faint path into the creek bed and requisite canyon needed to access the peak. Otherwise you gotta cactuswhack into the creek bed later. Second, when going for the summit after climbing the canyon you do indeed want to climb along the eastern flank. Be careful though, your tendency will be to hug it too much and you may end up having to backtrack. Other than that, go for it. Take this hike seriously though, it is as difficult as it gets around here, I did not think I was gonna make it more than once. I left more chunks of clothing, skin, blood and hair on this hike than I have in quite a while. Table Mt can be summited, but not without a serious fight. Spectacular climb.
