I finally made this one, my toughest hike so far! I went with my co-worker Hassan, who has hiked this trail pretty much every weekend for the past 20 years. I needed a guide, and we saw several people go the wrong way; it's easy to get sidetracked on this one.

We first summited the North Peak of Superstition Mountain, which is only about 20 minutes from the turnoff at the flatiron itself.

This is a knee-busting hike, but the views are beautiful. It gets warm in the early afternoon, so get an early start. I ran out of water, so watch for that as well.

All in all, a great experience!
