We planned on this being a nice easy ten miles. We saw lots of lizards, some frogs in the tanks, and sunfish as well. The walk was scenic and not to hard, we planned on taking the overland trail to avoid one long climb. It turned out the overland trail was not really a trail but bushwacking and trying to find rock cairns. We did ok for awhile but we soon lost sight of our next cairn. We winded up heading south east and we ran into the canyon overlook. We had eaten lunch at the overlook about 3 hours ago. a. So we had to hike back from there. Turning an easy ten mile hike into a long 15 mile hike. I'll do the hike again but never on the overland trail! Although it was my longest one day hike very which is cool.
