This was my second hike of the day after previously doing Mount Elden. I could definetly feel the elevation gain and higher altitude on this hike, still trying to acclimate from the PHX area. The hike up was a lil` long for me, taking breaks most of the way up. It's been awhile since I've hiked a 10k+ peak. Great views from the top and got a good look of Humpreys which I planned on hiking the next day, hoping this wind would die down a bit. Saw a guy in the fire lookout reading a book, didn't think it'd still be in use. The descent was fairly easy, saw a small group of deer thru the tree, and made it back to the TH before dark.
