Just wanted a little walk in the woods, added the inner loops so a little more mileage. Lots of stands of Aspen on this walk, most were not at peak, a few spots were nice and golden. Spent the night at "the spot", wonderful sunset, not as cool as expected, a little rain on the tent. Nice seeing the clouds seemingly rise from the valley then drift over the mountain, fogging in the hike. I met one fellow hiking, from Cali ,on my way out.
Should be good up there in another week or so. On a down note some of the maples seem to have smaller leaves and a burnt look to them, maybe drought and too late on the rainfall. Time will tell.
