With Lynn and Skippy. A fire at South Mountain about a year ago has resulted in a road closure at the junction of Summit Drive and San Juan Road. This road closure seems to have isolated the western portion of the preserve from the usual hoard of Sunday hikers, bikers, cruisers, and other users. Took the Max Delta Loop to Bajada returning along the closed section of San Juan Road. There was a spectacular sunset and a full moonrise that punctuated the drive home - I'm now having some regrets we didn't stay to capture some of it on camera...

A nice substitute for a rather ambitious hiking/camping adventure that fell through at the last moment due to a friend's sudden illness.
