I mistakenly took the TH on the left, the one with the little hiking figures sign on it, and wound up rolling up and down the lower slopes of the mountain, then into a wash as part of the Arizona Trail Detour , then southwest away from the mountain on thr AZ Trail, which eventually looped back north to the TH I should've taken in the first place! Before I hit the parking lot I met a nice couple who told me how to find the Summit Trail. I made a quick jaunt up to the mineshaft and back. So, yeah, I'm taking a wild guess at the mileage.

Great weather! The first part of the trail, as I hiked it, looks about to explode in cactus flowers in about a week or so. Lots of FAT buds on the hedgehogs, and the ocotillos and globe mallow are just beginning to unfurl.
