It's hard to imagine a nicer trail than the Tonto - an easy, undulating trek down the middle of some of the most spectacular scenery on earth, traversing scrubby slopes and dipping back into mini riparian zones. Best of all, no pools of mule urine to navigate!

My first hike using MRE's, which were pretty tasty, if the heaters were a bit tricky to figure out. Unfortunately my ankle started acting up a mile out from Indian Gardens (delayed result of a spill on the South Kaibab), and made for a long slog up Bright Angel after bumming some Ibuprofen from another group.
